In Italy there is nothing to do ... not a day that goes by without some good news. I would like to touch on some issues and problems that nuclear power brings with it objectively and to which our country has not yet been remedied (as all other countries-nuclear).
A) Italy has four nuclear power plants today well abandoned that pose a risk to the area. Our country has been engaged for several years in dismantling its old power plants without having yet found a solution. To this is added to one of the biggest problems of our old nuclear, treatment and the safety of nuclear waste. Today, these wastes are temporarily stored in warehouses not so sure (see the center of Eneas Trisaia), and there is still no final decision on their future disposal. C) Italy is a country highly exposed to natural hazards of various kinds: seismic risk, volcanic hazards, hydro etc.. This should be discussed in a serious way and very thorough when you plan to create a district energy so important.
D) The nuclear power plants employ frightening amount of water, Italy continually faces water shortages, which in many cases have resulted in the arrest of some power plants (such as the Po do not take more water).
E) In a country where the mafia infiltration are everywhere, corruption and collusion are the order of the day and you can not even build a railway, you feel secure in knowing who will build a plant in your region ...?
